About Venecia Nahai

Singer, songwriter, musician Venecia hails from Columbia South Carolina. At a young age, her father's army tour of duty allotted her the rich experience of living in Europe. This rich traveling experience prepared her for her later personal excursion to China where she lived, performed and learned to play the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese zither similar to the harp. Her love of sacred instruments and music of the indigenous peoples around the world shaped her musical understanding and expression. She had before that time developed a burning curiosity circling around how music affects the brain and body. She then began self-studies on the subject gathering as much data through books, experimentation and intuition as possible in preparation of applying these principles to her musical projects.

Formerly known as Butterfly Brown, she has always had a fond relationship with soul music which laid the foundation for her first cd 5 On the Black Hand Side. Her second cd Hematite ruffled with a new interest of showcasing the vastness of her capabilities vocally and musically as Hematite was the first self-produced project that was publicly released. The third project was a spiritually channeled project recorded while in China called The Violet Hangover which was laden with the fruition of her love of new age, nature, soul, lounge and electronic music. The Violet Hangover was given as gifts to friends and noted as the first healing cd of the collection which included music from various artists. Venecia is preparing for the release of her latest project The Sage and the Sorceress, another healing cd with roots deep within the inspiration of world, electronica, hip hop breakbeats ,new age and animal soundings delicately laced with atmospheric vocals and poignant, spiritual yet down to earth lyrics all wrapped within a soul-tinged magical fantasy ride allowing the listener a glimpse of what the soul and mind of Venecia deems Celestial Funk

Haji Basim is an internationally-known singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, meditation instructor, and music teacher. For the past 7 year's, Haji Basim has toured the world performing and holding music and meditation workshops. During a time in India, Haji studied the Sitar with a teacher to learn about the sacred sounds of Indian Classical Music. This will be an unforgettable night!
